Helping Poor and Orphan Children Help Themselves

By teaching Photography, Computer Graphics, Carpentry, and Handicraft skills we hope to give poor children and orphan children in Luangprabang, a chance in life when they become of age and leave the Orphanage.  Without parents, these very poor, orphan children have no one to help them when they leave school and finding a job without money, backing or a particular skill, is an impossible task in this poor country.  

By providing a workshop building ... equipped with electrical power tools, computers and photographic equipment ... we hope to teach these poor, orphan children a skill that will either make them self sufficient in their chosen trade or give them the experience and skill required to get a job from a local employer.  

We NEED your help.  In the 7 months that the workshop has been open, countless pairs of untrained hands have used the equipment.  2nd hand to start with and not designed for such constant use, much of it is now broken and beyond repair.
Just when a number of students are starting to produce salable items for the Gallery, such as garden tables and chairs and kitchen and bathroom accessories, lack of equipment has forced us to close the woodwork and handicraft section down.

Circular Saw, Wood Plane, Jig Saw, Power Drill, Router, Rotary Sander, Flat Sander

By DONATING money which we will use to buy equipment.  All donations of equipment, will be acknowledged on this web site and details of equipment purchased by monetary donations will also be posted.  YOU WILL SEE WHAT YOUR DONATIONS ARE USED FOR.
